Later tonight I'll post the "Top 5 Activities for Saturday (Jan 9)" on Facebook.
Monday I'll post the "Top 5 Registration Required Activities" on Facebook.
Next Thursday I'll post the "Top Picks for January 15-30th" on Facebook.
(See left column for the Facebook links and how-to.)
Here are 5 events to look into for January: 1. The Tiny Tots Concert Series is my top pick. It happens on various mornings between Jan 25 - Feb 10. These concerts are wonderful. The audience is encircled by professional musicians. I mentioned Tiny Tots in a Fall newsletter when I thought availability was going to be very tight. I have since had the pleasure to speak with Sheila, the coordinator. She said that the majority of scheduling effort revolves around large groups. As an individual/family, she suggested that you contact her directly to make arrangements: call 7/937-8998. Please mention that GreatIdeasForKids.com referred you. I highly recommend the Tiny Tots Concerts for families with kids ages 3.5 to 6 years (younger siblings are welcome.) Low cost. 2. Rope World is back! My kids love it, I love it. Longmont is a long drive from my home and worth every mile. Rope World is on various days between Jan 12-22nd, the schedule is on the Rope World web site. Two tips: the time slot immediately after school is usually the most crowded, and be sure your child is seated when receiving the zip-line handle. Ages 2 years to 3rd grade. Drop-in. Low cost. 3. Father-Daughter Dances often fill-up quickly. Last year there were dances at the North Boulder Rec Center, Louisville Rec Center, Northglenn Rec Center, and in Highlands Ranch. Most are not actually held on Valentine's Day. (Psst... while you're in touch with your local rec center, find out if they are also hosting a Basketball Skills Challenge in January.) 4. Missoula Children's Theater is touring the Front Range soon. This is a theater program where kids (lots of kids!) can participate in a stage play. See the list of cities and dates on their site. 5. Kindergarten Roundup time has arrived. If your child is entering kindergarten contact your local elementary school ASAP to find out when the orientation meeting is scheduled. Also, find out whether this is a meet-and-greet or a business-style presentation. Likewise, ask whether it is ok to bring younger siblings. Also, do not be surprised if the future kindergartners are separated from the parents. Please remember: 1. Later tonight I'll post the "Top 5 Activities for Saturday (Jan 9)" on Facebook. 2. If you don't receive a newsletter from me by Feb 1, please come visit www.GreatIdeasForKids.com! You may need to sign-up again! (So sorry for any inconvenience, but I believe these new upgrades will be worth it.) |
