Hot Air Balloon Festival, Town Fair & Fireworks in Erie - May 16:
It's a big day in Erie. The hot air balloons launch from Vista Ridge at 6am. Families can view them from a distance or go close up to the main launch area. The Erie Town festival runs all day. The fireworks show (check here for location) starts at 9:15pm.
200+ Garage Sales in Superior - May 8 and May 9:
The serious hunters start at 8am Friday, but the bargains are amazing by 11am on Saturday. With more than 200 sellers, expect much lower prices than consignment shops and better quality than thrift stores. Visit superiorcommunityevents.com for the house-by-house listings and town map.
Tickets Onsale to see the Blue Angels airshow - posted 4/19:
Visit http://www.airshownetwork.com/home.html for tickets to the Blue Angels airshow in Denver on June 13-14. Editor's Note: There is a good DVD documentary(narrated by Tom Selleck) that will help your kids understand the magic of this team and the difficulty of their maneuvers.

Free Fishing Derby - New Event - posted 3/26:
In Louisville on Apr 24, 2009 will be a Free Fishing Derby from 9am-1pm. Registration is required. It fills up quickly! There are 2 sessions available: 9-11 (#26999-1) or 11-1 (#26999-2). Kids fish for free (a pole is provided after visiting all of the educational stations) but adults (age 15+) must have a license. Visit Louisville Recreation Center or http://www.louisvillerecreation.com to sign up. Warembourg Open Space.
