Free (or very inexpensive) Crafts

  •  Discovery Days (Longmont) drop-in crafts with a rotating theme offered Tue/Wed/Fri, run by Miss Stephanie who is a retired kindergarten teacher. Runs September - May except on long school breaks. $3 per child (resident), $3.50 per child (non-resident), discount punchcards available. Editor's Note: The variety and quality of craft activities presented is excellent. Kids really enjoy this program. Kudos to Miss Stephanie!
  •  Old Firehouse Art Center (Longmont) bi-monthly art class for kids 5-12 (classes are free with membership - $20 annually for whole family)
  •  TOSA (Denver) free drop-in crafts with a rotating theme offered every Saturday morning in LoDo
  •  Home Depot (multiple locations) free kids workshop on the first Saturday morning of every month
  •  Lowe's (multiple locations) free kids workshops once or twice a month - call for details
  •  Cookies y Leche Art Workshops (CHAC in Denver) free workshops with refreshments on the third Saturday of every month
  •  

    Moderately priced Crafts

  •  Michaels (multiple locations) has craft classes on Saturdays and sometimes kid's camps — the class prices on the web site are often wrong, call your local store for details.
  •  Pots n Paints (Superior) has special offerings on Tuesdays and Fridays for kids.

  •  WoW Museum (Lafayette) stamping & marker drawing, check for special play-dough times
  •  Children's Museum of Denver for construction crafts (building things with real tools, using recycled materials) ages 4+
