Almost every city or town on the Front Range has a 4th of July celebration. Half have fireworks, others have parades, some have both. Almost all parades and fireworks are free with no admission. Please check the cost of each event on the venue's web page.
The events are listed in the following order:
Estes Park - Nederland - Longmont - Niwot - Erie - Boulder - Louisville - Superior - Broomfield - Westminster - Thornton - Northglenn - Brighton - Arvada - Golden - Commerce City - Denver
Remember to bring kid-safe bug spray, lawn chairs or a blanket for viewing fireworks. If you are going to an area where parking may be difficult, bring a map/print-out and write down where you parked so you can remember the location after the show.

Before the 4th
LAFAYETTE - July 1-3: Independence Day Crafts (WoW Museum) Celebrate Independence Day by making a special patriotic craft. Crafts available all day and are included with Museum admission.
BROOMFIELD - July 1: Civic Orchestra Concert (Broomfield Auditorium) Evening concert of patriotic favorites including music from Sousa, Gershwin and Anderson. Tickets required.
ERIE - July 3: Erie Fireworks (Vista Ridge - near Interstate 25 and Colo. 7) Kid's activities start at 4pm: inflatables, kid's games, food vendors, etc. Fireworks begin at dusk.
BOULDER - July 3: Colorado Music Festival (Chautauqua Auditorium - 900 Baseline Road)
The Festival Orchestra performs “Patriotism & Pops”
at 7:30pm. Tickets are $5.
DENVER - July 3: Independence Day Celebration (Citizens Park in Edgewater - 2431 Chase Street)
The Golden Eagle Concert Band performs as the fireworks light the sky. Activities start at 4pm. Fireworks at dusk.
DENVER - July 3: Fireworks (Coors Field)
After the Rockies game. Ticketholders in the Pavillion (left field bleachers from the foul pole toward center) and the Rockpile will be ushered to go SIT ON THE OUTFIELD to watch the fireworks.
DENVER - July 3: CSO Concert (City Park)
The Colorado Symphony Orchestra will hold a special Independence Day Celebration from 7-8pm. Free. No fireworks.
July 4th
ESTES PARK - Car show, Music and Fireworks
“Coolest Car Show in Colorado” (MacGregor Avenue between Elkhorn Avenue and Wonderview Drive) from 10am - 3pm. Concert at Performance Park Amphitheater (417 W. Elkhorn Ave) starts at 7pm. Fireworks over Lake Estes start at 9:30pm. Best view is from the lakeshore.
NEDERLAND - Parade, Kids' Carnival and Fireworks
Parade thru downtown at Noon. Carnival at the youth and family center (151 East St). Fireworks at dusk over Barker Reservoir.
LONGMONT - Symphony and Fireworks
Longmont Symphony Orchestra free performance of patriotic music in Thompson Park (Fourth and Bross) at Noon. Fireworks launched from Boulder County Fairgrounds (9595 Nelson Road) at 9:30pm.
B & C Bouncetown - July 4th Special
$5 child admission (adults free). 10am-4pm
Free cake, snacks and drinks. Lots of fun giveaways and door prizes, including
a 10-visit BounceTown pass! Bring the whole family for

NIWOT - Pancake breakfast, Parade and Music
7:30 to 9:30am, Pancake breakfast and bike decorating at Cottonwood Square.
10am Parade from Cottonwood Square through Old Town Niwot.
11am to 1pm, Live Music throughout town, face painters, stores open..come and play!
BOULDER - Parenting Place's Children's Parade (Library / Boulder Creek)
All ages are invited to join us at 10:00am to start
decorating bikes, strollers, and wagons. We're meeting at the Boulder Main Library, lawn on Canyon side. There will be snacks and and Ruby's Diner will provide an ice cream social for all guests. The Children's Parade will
begin at 10:30am and go around the creek path. The
parade will be followed by juicy watermelon, music, face painting and
other activities for our young visitors. A $5 donation per
family is requested.
BOULDER - Ralphie's Independence Day Blast (CU Folsom Field)
Fireworks, choreographed to live music, begin around 9:30 pm. Gates open at 7 pm. Sing-along with the Meadow Music crew, watch Pro Beach Volleyball, see jump rope teams, and, of course, the Boulder Philharmonic Orchestra. Free admission. GO Boulder, the city's transportation department, offers free HOP service from 10am-11pm. Event goers can avoid parking hassles by boarding the HOP bus anywhere along its route for a free ride to and from Folsom Field (visit this site for route info). Free parking is available along the HOP route at Boulder's Twenty Ninth Street retail center, downtown in city parking garages and at all city metered parking spaces.
LOUISVILLE - Picnic and Fireworks
Picnic at Louisville Community Park (Bella Vista Drive, south of Main St) from 9am-3pm: featuring inflatables, water sprayers, food vendors, arts booths, live music, live music, and bocce & horseshoe tournaments. Free swimming at Memory Square Park. Fireworks at dark at Coal Creek Golf Course (585 W Dillon Rd). Free Shuttle Bus Service provided from 6pm-11pm from the Rec Center and Home Depot.
SUPERIOR - Parade, Pancake breakfast, and Festival
Parade starts at 8:30am traveling down Rock Creek Parkway to Community Park (near Safeway). Parade includes community floats and decorated bicycles.
BROOMFIELD - Great American Picnic and Fireworks (Broomfield County Commons)
Carnival games and inflatables at 5pm. Parade at 5:30pm. Live music at 7pm. Fireworks at 9:15pm.
There is a rumor on the internet that The Bay will have free admission on July 4th. I called them, it's not true.
WESTMINSTER - Festival and Fireworks (Westminster City Park - 105 and Sheridan)
Jumping castle, face painting, food vendors and more starting at 6pm. The Nacho Men perform at 7pm. Fireworks begin at 9:15pm.
WESTMINSTER - Concert and Laser Show (Orchard Town Center)
A Beatles tribute band performs at 6pm. After the concert there will be a laser light show choreographed to music will astound young and old alike. Free.

THORNTON - Show with Orchestra and Fireworks (Thorton Fields - East 108th Ave and Colo. Blvd)
Walk-around entertainers, food and the Longmont Symphony Orchestra at 8pm. Fireworks at 9:30pm.
NORTHGLENN - Pancake breakfast, Family festival and Fireworks (EB Rains Park - SE Corner of 120th and I-25)
Pancake Breakfast, Northglenn a Bake Sale, a Bike, Trike and Wheelchair Parade, the Mayor's Cup Raft Race and Citizen's Cup Raft Race, fun games for children including inflatables, a climbing wall and midway games, festival food, and the Hazel Miller Band performing at 6pm. Fireworks at 9:30pm over Webster Lake.
BRIGHTON - Outdoor Pool BBQ, Rubber Duck Race, and Fireworks
Brighten the Brighton Sky - all day starting with the outdoor pool barbecue (12n-4pm) and open swim in the outdoor pool. Rubber Duck Race at Benedict Park 6pm. Fireworks at dusk.
ARVADA - Car show, Family festival and Fireworks
Family fun from 3-7pm at the Harold D. Lutz Sports Complex (West 58th Ave). It features free children’s activities: bounce houses, art activities, games, military display, and lots more. KOOL 105 will be hosting a classic car show. Parking will be on a first come first serve basis beginning at 2 p.m. No parking will be allowed on Kipling Street. No alcohol or pets. Fireworks 9pm.
GOLDEN - Coal Creek Parade, Pancake Breakfast and Mountain Run (Spruce Canyon)
Start the morning off with a bang at the Scar Top Mountain Run and Spruce Canyon 5K, starting at 8 am. The run, which donates 100 percent of its profits to the community, climbs 1,000 feet with an equal amount of descent over the 7.4-mile dirt road course; the Spruce Canyon 5K is a gentler version of the 12K race. The Coal Creek Fourth of July Celebration includes a full morning of family fun, including a parade, pancake breakfast, booths and music.
GOLDEN - Family festival and Fireworks (Lions Park - 10th and Maple)
Family fun from Noon to dusk sponsored by the Golden Lions Club. Drawings for door prizes, children's rides (most free) and food will also carry on throughout the day. Fireworks at dusk.
COMMERCE CITY - Huge fireworks display after soccer game (Dick's Sporting Goods Park)
Family fun before the game starts at 5pm. The game is at 7:30pm. The fireworks start at approximately 10pm. Parking opens at Noon - $5/vehicle for those without soccer tickets.
DENVER - Kid's Parade (Cheesman Park)
Kids are invited to decorate their bikes and wagons for the annual Cheesman Park Independence Day Kid's Parade at 10am. Meet at the Cheesman Park Pavilion on the east side of the park; kids should arrive by 9:30am with their decorated bikes and wagons. There's also a "Meet and Greet" opportunity with Denver POLICEMEN ON HORSEBACK and with Denver FIREMEN.
DENVER - Old-Fashioned July 4th Celebration (Four Mile Park - 715 South Forest Street)
Discover the true meaning of this holiday with costumed historical characters including THOMAS JEFFERSON, ABRAHAM LINCOLN and others. Traditional festivities include the reading of the DECLARATION OF INDEPENDENCE, music, games and more. 10am-4pm Horse-drawn rides and food are also available.
Cost: Adults $7; Children $4, (5 & under) free; Seniors $4
Educational: History
DENVER - Military Display "Salute to the Union" (in front of State Capitol - East Colfax Ave and Lincoln St)
Starts at 11:45am in Lincoln Park. The ceremony will include patriotic music by the 101st Army Band, an AIRCRAFT FLYOVER, 75mm SALUTE CANNON FIRE, presentation, posting and display of the flags of all 50 States of the Union. This is a traditional military ceremony seen by few civilians, impressive, and educational. Free.
