This is a fantastic museum for anyone 6 and under. There are areas to play and explore: a sandbox with lots of toys (large enough for 4-5 kids) a giant bubble zone where you pull a cord and the bubble is formed around the child (bring extra socks!) a stage for performing and many costumes available (including a supply of used tap shoes) a very large pirate ship to explore a variety of science zones that emphasize air pressure, gravity, wind, and more a lizard and fish tank a little house with a small kitchen and an open side for serving play food to adults a music room with an old piano and percussion instruments an art room with lots of places to draw and decorate a wooden dollhouse (for playing) and a model railroad (for viewing) a small grocery store and a bank with pneumatic-tube system and much more.
A few of the selling points of Wow include its low price and free admission for adults. It is also open to 6pm on most days (check the calendar), this means it is open later than most other local attractions.
It is not as glamorous as the Children's Museum of Denver but if you live within 15 minutes and have children 6 and under, this is a no-brainer. Your kids will love it, and it's easy on the parents. It's also a favorite spot for parents of newborns, because there are places to sit with the baby and watch the older kids play. The space is pretty simple, just 2 sides to the museum, so sitting on the same side as the sibling(s) is often sufficient.
